Label : No Label Venue : The Bottom Line, New York City, New York, USA Recording Date : November 1, 1978 Quality : Soundboard Recording (A+) Review : Van Morrison was in the middle of a commercial comeback around the time of this show, promoting his newly released Wavelength album. Introduced by J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf, he opened with a swinging take on "Moondance" and delivered a set that mixed the new material with a string of long-time favorites, played in the intimate setting of the club that also helped launch the careers of Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel. Review (The Rock Room) : This performance captures Morrison at a moment of reinvention, reworking older material alongside new songs, and stands as a strong document of the artist that would deserve a proper official release. |
