Review (For Love Or Money?) : An excellent package, the highlight being U2's cover of the Peggy Seeger folk tune "Springhill Mining Disaster". While performing the song, Bono tells the crowd, "Shut up for a second will ya? Stop whistling 'cause I'm not in the Beatles, it's U2 here!" Not to be confused with the 2CD sets, of the same name, on the Golden Stars and Live Storm labels. I just wanted to say that the recording is really good, although it's audience, but the concert itself is one of the bests ever. U2 seems to have a love for Chicago, and Bono isn't shy to tell the crowd (and they love it). When he says during 'Pride (In The Name Of Love)', "...I remember very much Chicago. One, because I think U2 played well that night, it was good... and two, because... you're so noisy!" The crowd, as Bono obviously planned, goes nuts and screams their heads off! "In the name of love!!!..." Bono continues. And during "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", when Bono chants "People dancing to a U2 song, I don't believe this!" Everyone eats it up, dancing and screaming like they never have before. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this is just a damn good (audience participating) concert. If you can find it, and loved the Joshua Tree days (as one must), you'll love this! Feel free to argue with me about this.

Review (@U2) : This show is an audience recording of the Joshua Tree tour in Chicago from the first leg of that tour. U2 fans have often said that this is the audience recording against which all others should be measured -- it is good, but I would not necessarily make the same claims. One of my favorite moments of the show is when the band launches into "Springhill Mining Disaster" -- having lived in Springhill, that one always catches my ear when I hear Bono sing it. Particularly amusing to me is his declaration that they aren't the Beatles; so stop the whistling until the song is done. U2 didn't always take their fame with a bit of humour as they did in the '90s. As happens from time to time, another bootleg has the same name -- Rock's Hottest Ticket -- but that one is a recording from the European tour in the summer of 1987. If you're searching for this one make sure you are looking for Chicago. There are other commercial pressings of this show, but Rock's Hottest Ticket is generally recognized as the nicest version of this show. Copies in SHN format from the original master tapes have recently begun to circulate as I mentioned earlier.
