THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY : GREATEST HITS |
|
Label : Arista Release Year : 1989 Length : 47:33 Review (AllMusic) : Although they weren't as good as the Cowsills, who served as at least partial inspiration for the group, the Partridge Family had their fair share of first-rate bubblegum singles in the early '70s. Greatest Hits does an excellent job of summarizing those glory days, containing most of the big hits - "I Think I Love You," "Doesn't Somebody Want to Be Wanted," "I'll Meet You Halfway," "I Woke Up in Love this Morning," "It's One of Those Nights (Yes Love)," "Am I Losing You," "Looking Through the Eyes of Love" - along with their theme song "Come on Get Happy" and selected highlights from their records. Since it's missing a handful of minor hits, such as "Breaking Up Is Hard to Do," it can't really be seen as definitive, but it comes close enough to satisfy the desires of almost all casual fans. |
