Accompanied by guitarist Dominic Miller, he revisits a selection of iconic tracks from his career, blending classics from The Police with solo hits. The recording highlights the museum s exceptional acoustics, whose natural reverberation fully contributes to the listening experience. Far from a spectacular production, this performance favors closeness to the artist and the authenticity of the interpretation. Available in both stereo and Dolby Atmos, this recording is a particularly interesting reference for assessing the ability of an immersive mix to reproduce the unique atmosphere of a truly singular venue. Review (Facebook) : Recorded in Amsterdam’s Rijksmuseum for ARTE Sounds Like Art, The Night Watch (Live at the Rijksmuseum) captures Sting in one of the most intimate & visually striking performances of his career amongst paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer & Judith Leyster. Joined by longtime guitarist Dominic Miller & playing a 17th-century guitar once crafted for Louis XIV’s court, Sting performs songs from The Last Ship alongside classics from The Police & his solo repertoire in a stunning, intimate setting.

Concert Review (NPO Radio 5) : Begin dit jaar gaf Sting een besloten optreden in de beroemde Eregalerij van het Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, met de Nachtwacht van Rembrandt als achtergrond. Het hele optreden, ruim een uur lang en vol met prachtige uitvoeringen van zijn solo- én Police-hits, is nu te bekijken. Sting was begin dit jaar een tijdje in Amsterdam voor de musical 'The Last Ship' in Carré. Op een vrije avond gaf hij een speciaal optreden in het Rijksmuseum, met slechts een handvol genodigden als publiek. Onder andere reggae-artiest Shaggy, Stings partner Trudie Styler en burgemeester Femke Halsema waren aanwezig bij het optreden in Amsterdam. Sting gaf zijn concert met vaste gitarist Dominic Miller en in een ruim uur speelde hij bekende songs als 'Message In A Bottle', 'Fields Of Gold' en 'Roxanne'. Alles werd vastgelegd door het Frans-Duitse cultuurkanaal Arte, dat het optreden beschikbaar stelt via YouTube. Behalve De Nachtwacht is ook Het Joodse Bruidje te zien en de registratie is uitgebreid met beelden van Sting die door nachtelijk Amsterdam wandelt en oreert over schilderijen die in het Rijksmuseum te zien zijn. Na het optreden bespeelde Sting bovendien nog een 17e-eeuwse gitaar uit de collectie van het Rijksmuseum. Dat gebeurde zonder publiek, maar beelden ervan zijn wel opgenomen in bovenstaande registratie.
