Review (Amazon) : Nobody can play the blues-harp like Rory MacLeod. I've tried to play some of the riffs he plays on this album unitl my lips have turned blue and I have finally come to the conclusion that he is the greatest harmonica player alive. For the uninitiated, Rory MacLeod is a kind of Cockney Blues/Folk Bobby McFerrin. This album is a truly great collection of songs. From the uplifting almost gospel-like 'Love Like A rock' to the beautifully seductive 'Mariachi's Song'. To listen to this album is to gain an insight into the life of this extraordinary, modern day, travelling minstrel.

Review : Rory McLeod - ex-circus clown and fire eater. A one man soulband, poet and storyteller, singing his own unique upbeat dance stories. A modern troubadour using tap shoes, acappella, harmonica, guitar, trombone, spoons, finger cymbals, bandorea, djembe andand various percussion instruments. "Footsteps & Heartbeats" was originally released in 1989, and was one of Rory McLeod's groundbreaking albums. The restless footsteps and pulsing heartbeat of the music takes the listener on journeys through the streetsof Britian, the dusty plains of the East and the ramble tamble of the South Americas. There are excellent melodies at play and it's Rory McLeod who provides the beating heart.
