Review (Amazon) : Boat To Bolivia was Martin Stephenson And The Daintees debut album, released on the Kitchenware label via London Records in 1985. Produced by Gil Norton (Pixies, James, Bunnymen) it's a wonderful slice of rootsy pop and it received excellent reviews in the music press of the time, 'a wonderful record which you should seriously consider buying' said Andy McReady in NME and thousands of students took his advice. It was almost impossible to be a student then and not own a copy and regular college dates helped underpin the popularity and cement Martin's deserved reputation as a top-notch live performer.
