LINDISFARNE : THE NEWS |
|
Label : Mercury Release Year : 1979 Review (Amazon) : Make no mistake about this offering from the popular Geordies. Recorded in 1979 this is not one of their classic albums. True there are some good tunes especially 'Easy and free', 'Call of the wild', 'When Friday comes along' and 'Good to be here?'. The latter being one of those mysterious orchestrated offerings where Hulls lead vocals float from channel to channel when listening on headphones. The album does contain some very mediocre songs from 'Dedicated hound', 'People say' and 'This has got to end'. Also this cd annoyingly contains no lyrics to the songs which were included with the original vinyl release. This one is for Lindisfarne fans only. If you've not got any albums by this talented band try 'Fog on the Tyne' or 'Amigos'. |
