LEE CLAYTON : BORDER AFFAIR |
|||
Label : Capitol Records Release Date : 1978 Length : 44:29 Review (AllMusic) : Undeserving of his relative obscurity, Lee Clayton belongs in the company of Waylon Jennings and other elite outlaw country-rockers. His defiance and independence are plain when he sings "Tequila Is Addictive," but he doesn't seem to give a damn, sticking to his own fiercely personal material. The album was cut in Nashville, but hot lead guitar/Memphis Horns mainstays Andrew Love and Wayne Jackson separate this from the establishment by a country mile. Sincerity makes up for any deficiencies in singing range. |
