Review (Blues Unlimited): John Lee Hooker has been well treated by Charly, with three and a half albums released to date. Why then, release another? Quiete simply, so many of the remaining Vee Jay sides were so good that it would have been a crime to leave them in the vaults. More specifically we wanted to put out, in its enitreety, 'Travelin' (Vee Jay LP 1023), a powerful album where Hooker works with a trio or solo and displays the mesmeric force common to his best work. However, the original album only had 12 sides and so we have made it even better value for money by adding two early tracks missded from other Charly compilations and two later tracks which have never been issued before. A great package, we think you'll agree.
