Concert Review (Crowesbase) : Well, well, well. The Crowes rocked NYC one more time and it didn't disappoint. The Led Zep tunes were plentiful and they were amazing. Although, watching Jimmy Page is like watching Elvis right before his death. He's fat, balding, sloppy, and a shadow of what he once was. But, having said that, the set list was unbelievable and Chris' vocals were incredible! The highlight of the evening, however, was the song I have said for years I would most like to hear the Crowes cover , and they did it! I'm talking about "Shapes of Things" from the Jeff Beck album 'Truth." This was the album a young and soulful Rod Stewart sang on. I nearly fainted from excitement as the Crowes (with very little help from Page) played a version of it that never stopped giving. One other note. Steve Gorman gets better every time I see him. He is proving to be one of the best Rock and Roll drummers in the business today. He did John Bonham justice with the way he played last night. And his playing on the Fleetwood Mac tune 'Oh Well' was truly inspired. As Chris said last night, 'see you tommorrow.'
