Disc One (59:10)
Disc Two (42:42)
Label : Banzai Venue : Stadio Communale, San Remo, Italy Date : July 7th, 1994 Quality : Audience recording (A-) Comments from Bobs Boots : A nice sounding audience mix from this Italian set. The vocals are powerful (sometimes a bit too much so), yet warm and comfortable. The music is clean, and all instruments are well represented. The set list reads like a greatest hits CD, and all songs are well performed. This is one of those shows that fails to reach out and grab you, though. You can't put your finger on it... everything's right... but it seems like there's something missing in the soul of both the music and vocals. The worst problem is a rude, continuous chatter and/or clap from the audience. That's the reason for the lower star grade. If you don't mind being right in the middle of the crowd, grab this title... it will put you there. The highlights are delicate versions of Love Minus Zero, and It Ain't Me Babe, though the crowd tries to destroy them with claping. The package tries for a touch of elegance. It nearly succeeds, save for the front cover image. Bob's hair has been cropped poorly, and he appears to be wearing a bathing cap. This same image is silk screened onto the sharp looking CD, but doesn't seem quiet as offensive. A Beautiful full color photo booklet offsets the flaw. |
