Review (Bob's Boots) : This 3 CD package represents 31 of the 32 different songs performed during the State Theater residency. Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35 is absent, but nothing to loose sleep over. The mix is good. The vocals are clear. The sound quality fairly good. The overall package aesthetics is fairly good as well. This is by no means a jaw dropping experience, but it is good, solid stuff. The band sparkles, and Dylan relies heavily on the harmonica. The biggest reason for this piece is the variety of songs.

Review (DEEP) : The first release to emerge documenting the brief April/May US dates of '96, and a fine document it is. The Portland shows were notable for the variety of material performed - all told we have 31 different songs included on these 3 disks, every tune Dylan did at this residency save "Rainy Day Women." Quality is very good, though not great, but a fine recording nonetheless. Nice, smooth sound and clear instrumentation on all 3 disks, with crisp sounding and energetic vocals. Bob and the band were obviously in fine form on all 3 nights here. The harp is put to the test a lot and Bob simmers through most of the solos. Can't say enough about Bucky either. Many, many great performances from the three nights, nicely done and thankfully documented by Razor's Edge.
