The 2 CD set contains not only the final show of the year, but one of the best. Dylan rips into the vocals with a vengeance. They are well up front, but still not too far above the music as to sound out of place. The music is tight, crisp, and well mixed. 1995 Didn't start off well for Dylan, but it got better and better, and culminated with this incredible double billing with Patti Smith. Highlights include a reworked It's All Over Now Baby Blue. Tony uses a bow on the acoustic upright, and creates the feel of a classical work. Dylan's phrasing is unique, and adds a new flavor to the mix. Dark Eyes is sung beautifully by Patti. Dylan sings harmony, and does it fairly well! |
