Review : New Braunfels 2026 catches the second show of Dylan's Long Hot Summer Tour with guitarist Joel Paterson back in the lineup, this time on the opposite side of the stage from where he debuted the night before in Austin, with Bob Britt, Doug Lancio and Julian Lage all sitting this leg out. Set at the modest, hillside Whitewater Amphitheater outside San Antonio, the show reportedly played as a course correction after a muddier-sounding Austin gig, with a clearer mix and a steadier feel on stage. The band, again led by Dylan on electric keyboard rather than piano, opens with the now-familiar trio of "Watching The River Flow," "Man In The Long Black Coat" and "It Ain't Me, Babe," before "I Contain Multitudes" and "False Prophet" bring in newer originals alongside blues covers like "I Can Tell" and "Share Your Love With Me." The show's back half moves through "Crossing The Rubicon" and "Soon After Midnight," with the harp-laced "Under The Red Sky" standing out as a welcome rarity, before the tour-standard "Goodbye Jimmy Reed" hands off to a closing "Every Grain Of Sand." Taped from the general-admission lawn under the Texas summer heat, this audience recording documents a band settling comfortably into its new configuration, with Dylan's keyboard and harp riding clearly above a tight rhythm section.
