Disc Two (79:33)
Label : Dandelion Venue : Charlotte Coliseum, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Date : December 10, 1978 Quality : Audience Recording (A-) Review (Bob's Boots) : Dandelion once again shows why they are masters of the trade with this gorgeous package. The photos are stunning, the aesthetics superb. The two CD set captures the entire Dylan portion of the show, and what a wild ride it is. Dylan was touring in support of not one, but two new albums. 'Budokan' had just hit the street legal, and 'Street Legal' had just hit Budokan. Dylan draws all the power and excitement that has been created by the tour and the two new albums, and unleashes it in a fury into the wide-eyed Carolina crowd. Dylan rants and raves, and spits the vocals out with venom. Every word rings true as if written in his soul. Possibly the finest performance of the extensive tour. The sound quality is nice as well. Rich, bright, and full. Of course, it falls well below the quality of 'Budokan'; but the fiery performance leaves the official release in ashes. Review (Deep Beneath The Waves) : It doesn't get much better than this. Far and away the most inspired, smokin' 1978 performance I've heard. Dylan sounds possessed and sings with a preacher's fervor on every tune. An awe-inspiring performance by Dylan and the band that leaves Budokan and most everything else from this tour in its wake, mabe the definitive show from 1978. Quality is full and bright for a '78 show. An all-time great
