Disc One
Disc One
Label : Thinman Venue : Panathenaikos Stadio, Athens, Greece Recording Date : June 28, 1989 Quality : Audience recording (A-) Review : Enjoyable audience recording of a 1989 show with Van Morrison as guest. This concert has the only acoustic version of 'Every Grain Of Sand', has the second of only two performances of Hank Williams' 'House Of Gold' and has also the first performance of Crazy Love and 'It Stoned Me'. G.E. Smith on guitar, Tony Garnier on bass and Christopher Parker on drums. Review (Bob's Boots) : Another excellent release from a Label that continues to pump out incredible shows in beautiful packages. This one includes heavy quality paper stock inserts, with concert photos as well as some great images from the day before at The Hill Of The Muses in Athens where Bob was filming One Irish Rover with Van Morrison. This One and a half hour long concert is a historic performance for several reasons. First of all, it was the final performance of the tour. It features a walk on performance with Van Morrison and Dylan in the only concert performance of these two Van classics. It includes the only acoustic version of Every Grain Of Sand (there's a small glitch after the song, but it's only during the audience noise), and perhaps best of all, the title track... one of only two performances of the Hank Williams classic House Of Gold. |
