BOB DYLAN : A MILLION FACES AT MY FEET |
|
Disc Two
Label : Tuff Bites Venue : Forest National, Brussels, Belgium Recording Date : March 23, 1995 Quality : Audience recording (A+) Review (Bob's Boots) : This is an incredible sounding audience tape, thanks to digital remastering. Most of the time you'll think that you're hearing a soundboard tape. The overall sound is warm and mellow. The instruments are blended perfectly. Vocals are up front and powerful. The harmonica is only very slightly too loud, but not at all offensive. TUIB is a tad fast, which often causes Bob to stumble through some lyrics. Queen Jane is a tad slow, which can cause Bob to "float around" the proper notes. Neither is the case here. Fast or slow, Dylan is on fire... he can do no wrong. J. Saurer's wonderfully drawn and detailed caricature in rich, vibrant colors finish off this great set. This is not a jewel case, rather a gate-fold cardboard sleeve that is reminiscent of the old folding LP dust jackets. The label on this disc is clear, and it takes a keen eye to spot that it is indeed a CD-r. The standard early '95 set is executed flawlessly. The bonus tracks represent songs added to the fall tour, and along with the show, present a good representation of the best of 1995. They are well performed, but the mid high db reduction that smoothes out the Belgium show causes the bonus tracks to be heavily muffled. Nonetheless, this package is a most worthy addition to any collection. |
