Review (Amazon) : A really great concert by Dexys, a lot of their older numbers are given a make-over to fit in with their current sound and this has been on repeat since I got this! Also comes with a DVD of the concert that contains more songs that couldn't fit on the CD, highly recommended! The songs absolutely shine with the care with which they are treated. You see the superb lyricist that Rowland is here as he isn't consciously obscuring his enunciation as before but is letting the words be heard. These are magnificent songs. Anyone serious about music or/and about pushing the boundaries in music needs to Listen To This. And the song with that name: "Listen To This" has its definitive version here. And 7 or 8 of the other songs are as good. The encore doesn't maintain the level: Because of You, Nightshift and the so-tough-to-do-live This is What She's Like. But up to these, the standard is sky-high. Anyone coming to this new but sceptical, knowing only the mega-hit Come On Eileen, shouldn't just go back to this song to be able easily to give up, the familiarity (with the song) having bred contempt, but should hear the album from track no.1 onwards, prepared to listen, for a whole new view of Dexys Midnight Runners.
