BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND : THE LAST WARM-UP |
||
Label : The Swingin' Pig Venue : The Village, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Recording Date : June 21, 1984 Length : 33:27 Quality : Soundboard Recording (A+) Review : This is a nice novelty show for any Bruce fan...very short but complete. The gig took place at a small nightclub in downtown Lancaster called The Village, which still stands and operates today. Bruce and the band had been gearing up for what would become the monstrous 'Born In The USA' tour. While there was no formal announcement of this gig, word spread that Bruce was showing up for a brief "practice" show at The Village...and he did not let the 500 or so locals down. The show is indeed short (33 minutes) but it is complete and packs a nice punch. The mix is a bit odd but the recording is pretty clean with some minor tape fluctuations here and there. The real oddity here is that Max Weinberg is playing a drum machine (!!!) and the synth (Danny F?) is quite loud in spots, which gives this show a cheesy sound at times. While this critique might sound like I'm trying to deter you from downloading this, I'm simply giving my humble opinion of what to expect...it's still a great nugget from mid-80's Bruce. |
