BRUCE COCKBURN : FULL HOUSE |
|
Label : Wienerworld WNRD Release Year : 2008 Running Time : 88 minutes Venue : Grosse Freiheit, Hamburg, Germany Recording Date : May 14, 1986 NTSC : 4:3 Review (Liner Notes) : The superb Canadian guitarist Bruce Cockburn was already one of the greatest singer/songwriter in his field at the time of his performance on 'Full House'.The sensitive rock poet captivates his audience through his tremendous astuteness, singing of injustice and human need that he saw with his own eyes during his travel through Latin America. Even before he made a name for himself in Europe, he had already brought out ten LPs in Canada. There he was awareded several times with the equivalent of the Grammy, the "Juno Award", for his work as an interpreter and composer. His greatest hit is "Wondering Where The Lions Are", which stayed on the US Top 40 Charts for 9 weeks. In this concert from the 'Grosse Freiheit' in Hamburg (May 14, 1986) this multi-facated artist shows us is different sides- now warm and inviting, now angry and rebellious. In both interviews Bruce explains the effect of his music he hopes for on the listener. |
