Review : Bruce Cockburn and Youssou N'Dour live from the Columbia studios in New York City. No Christmas with Cockburn this time, but rather a Midsummer Night's Dream. Filler tracks 11-14 are taken from the 1981 TV show "In Session", a Canadian series that paired different musicians (The episode pairing Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King has been released on cd). This episode paired Bruce with Rik Emmett, then guitarist of the rock band Triumph. Rik Emmett has had a respected career as a guitarist and has written columns for guitar magazines and released numerous solo albums since leaving Triumph in the late 1980's. Though filmed at the same session, the Bruce/Rik Emmett pairing was shown as two seperate 1/2 hour programs.
