AL STEWART : LIVE AT WARWICK UNIVERSITY |
|
Disc One (46:45)
Disc Two (75:04)
Label : no label Venue : University of Warwick, Coventry, UK Review : This is a very intimate concert which was given by Al Stewart himself (in cassette format) to the Al Stewart Mailing List in the 1990's. It was "treed" from the list, and many of the regulars got a copy. The concert includes a lot of his Bedsitter Images stuff that did not show up much in later concerts. It features a very talkative Al (he's usually very talkative) in front of an intimate audience, with an obviously not-high-tech recording setup, yet it sounds very good anyway. He introduces just about every song with a long explanation of what it means (either true of facetious). One of my favorite Al tapes. This copy sounds very good, but is also very imperfect, with some obvious splices here and there, some cutting of the left channel on occasion, and lots of "jiggling the microphone" noises - fortunately most of the imperfections are not during the songs. |
